There was this guy see.
He wasn't very bright and he reached his adult life without ever having learned "the facts".
Somehow, it gets to be his wedding day.
While he is walking down the isle, his father tugs his sleeve and says,

"Son, when you get to the hotel room...Call me"

Hours later he gets to the hotel room with his beautiful blushing bride and he calls his father,

"Dad, we are the hotel, what do I do?"

"O.K. Son, listen up, take off your clothes and get in the bed, then she should take off her clothes and get in the bed, if not help her. Then either way, ah, call me"

A few moments later...

"Dad we took off our clothes and we are in the bed, what do I do?"

O.K. Son, listen up. Move real close to her and she should move real close to you, and then... Ah, call me."

A few moments later...

"DAD! WE TOOK OFF OUR CLOTHES, GOT IN THE BED AND MOVED REAL CLOSE, WHAT DO I DO???"

"O.K. Son, Listen up, this is the most important part. Stick the long part of your body into the place where she goes to the bathroom."

A few moments later...

"Dad, I've got my foot in the toilet, what do I do?"

Hi there,

To be honest I celebrate the fact, as a Britisher living in Peru for over 42 years, that the USA has decided to replay a Latin American soap opera like Betty La Fea, which was excellent in its Spanish version by the way, and in this Selma Hayak does honesty to her Latin roots, good for her. What I can't understand is how Sony Entertainment TV Latin America can air Borat (his local TV program) on our local cable TV (Sony Entertainment)? First of all his stupid and frankly grotesque humor (lacking in any imagination or wit) is untranslatable and many people in Latin America who do not know English even understand his so-called jokes (plus the awfully translated subtitles) and for those of us poor souls who do, frankly, in my humble opinion it just goes to show you what the US population will accept and even give fame to! (It gives you a fair idea about the culture taught in the US schools). Absolutely ridiculous, appalling program, unviewable in my opinion and I'd like to believe (irrespective of whether he is British or not) that I have a little bit more culture and education than to stoop to watch such an appalling program.

There are many programs which although not necessarily educational are pretty interesting and have some sort of message, such as Saving Grace (acting by Holly Hunter by the way, very good, she deserves an Emmy) or "Brothers and Sisters", excellent cast and good acting and real life situations with a good script as well as "Two and Half Men" (good comedic scripts and very good comedic acting by the entire cast) both of which also deserve Emmys, even though we are all aware that Sally Field earned an Emmy recently for her participation in Brothers and Sisters (and well earned), but the remaining actors also deserve an Emmy. Charlie Sheen has been nominated for an Emmy but the main character of Monk, Shaloub I think it is (I keep forgetting his name) won the Emmy, I think it's about time someone of the cast of Two and Half Men got an Emmy, the maid, for instance (Conchata Ferrell) is hilarious as is Charlie and Alan's Mother (whom I've seen in many other of her works- very good actress). Dr. House and the CSI series is very good as well, why does Sony Entertainment have to air BORAT? That would imply there is some idiot out there who likes to watch that type of program in the US, but we here in Latin America do not.

Well just airing my opinions as an objective viewer.

Thank you for your patience and attention

I loved your website. You are an amazing journalist, congratulations!!

Well, I got dragged to your website through the Natpe daily lead, where they were talking about your article "Column: Hispanic TV needs to play catch-up to groundbreaking ads", and I would love to recommend you this tv channel transmitted through DirecTV, www.mexicanal.com

I have found it very interesting and it makes me feel like if I am watching Mexican programming. It is a very interesting project that should be considered in other Cable Operators, because what they do is to broadcast programming from the local tv station in different states around Mexico.

I hope you can find it interested and this TV channel gets more promotion around the USA.

Thanks

Interesting comments on tequila's continued rise in popularity. I have been tracking the parallel growth of tequila and Latin culture with great interest for the past decade. I think it bodes well for tequila's future - especially good news for those American companies which recently bought Mexican distilleries.

However, while tequila is still in a growth cycle, the Tequila Regulatory Council is predicting a shortage of agave in three-four years. That could shake the industry and change its profile. Stay tuned...

Thanks for sharing your writing. Excellent stuff!
Cheers
